Epoxy Topcoat Paint (1400)

Definition: It is an epoxy-polyamine based, double component, semi-matt and hard film coating, reaction dried topcoat paint. It is highly resistant to many chemicals, oil, sea water and rust. Epoxy paint, which has a wide range of applications, has an exceptionally long service life as it is robust, decorative and sanitary, as well as its chemical and physical strength is extremely high. It is being used with an increasing demand in the production of surfaces harmless to human health.

Area of Application: Epoxy Top Coat Paint with Gemsa solvent can be safely used in acidic and basic environments, various industrial facilities exposed to abrasion, refinery facilities close to sea water, water treatment units, pipelines, inside and outside the tank, compressor, thermal power plants, machinery, transformer, steel constructions, valuable machinery and tools to be protected, factory and industrial facilities where chemical resistance is requested; and also on building elements such as plaster, concrete, etc.

Application Tools: Pistole, Brush or Roller

Application Thinner: Solvents with high polar power such as Gemsa rapid thinner, toluene, xylol, etc.

Method of Application: Metal surfaces to be painted should be cleaned from all kinds of oil, rust and dirt, sandblasting should be made for metal surfaces if necessary. Painting should be started within 8 hours at the latest after cleaning, if the time is prolonged, the surface should be sandblasted again as oxidation will start on the sandblasted surface. The mixture prepared as described is applied to the previously primed area with a brush-roll or pistol. Care should be given that the ambient temperature should be at least 5°C during application. It should be waited between layers for 10-12 hours in multiple coat applications. Painted materials should not be exposed to physical and chemical agents as much as possible before the chemical event occurs (7 days).

Drying Time:

Touch drying: 1.5-2 hours     Hard drying: 48 hours.

Chemical drying: 7 days   Second coat application: Minimum 8, maximum 24 hours

The drying time may vary depending on the temperature and air circulation of the application medium and the film thickness coefficient.

Paintable Area:

13-15 m2 / kg (30 –microns dry film thickness)

15-17 m2 / lt (30-micron dry film thickness)

Storage Type and Duration: 1 year in a cool and dry environment not receiving direct sunlight, sealed packaging (+5°C to +30°C)

Safety Warnings:

(S2) (Keep out of the reach of children.)
